Hey, I’m heather

…and I’m so happy you’re here!

I live in the suburbs just outside of Toronto, Ontario with my husband, Jon, our three children, two cats (Cairo and Bali) and our new pup, Reya. I’m no stranger to chaos, as you can tell!

I’m an introverted extrovert with a love of travel and adventure, and I’m forever dreaming of when we can take our next trip. I’ve always been an artist at heart, whether it was painting, drawing, graphic design or photography – so it’s no surprise that I have turned education and passion into a thriving business for myself.

I’ve been through the whirlwind of wedding planning in 2016/17, and I’m also no stranger to having my family photographed by others, so I know exactly how it feels to be overwhelmed, nervous or just unsure of the process. I also know how incredibly important my job is and I consider it a huge honour for clients to put that trust in me.

More than two decades in this industry and I still love everything about my job!

MY BEST FRIEND

In 2017, I married my amazing husband, Jon, on top of Sulphur Mountain in Banff. We decided to have a very small and intimate wedding with only 21 guests and it was so perfect for us.

Prioritizing the things we felt were most important is what created a day that reflected our love story.

Jon is an incredibly talented photographer and videographer and he’s been the person who has supported and challenged me for over 15 years. He’s also multi-talented at building, fixing and cooking – plus he’s the best Dad to our kids!

my favourite people

My beautiful family is the reason I get to do what I love. Their unwavering support is what gets me through the highs and lows of being a business owner. Watching my children grow up is a privilege and giving them experiences and memories is something I treasure.

“Heather expertly captures timeless images in vibrant hues. Her ability to illustrate each couple’s story and the underlying theme of their day is extraordinary. At a time when surreal photography is trending, we love the fact that Heather has embraced bold, bright shots instead.”

My

style and approach

I am inspired by the beauty of nature, love stories and the memories that will last generations. I bring elegance, sophistication and creativity to capturing weddings and sessions for my clients, and they often praise my ability to blend in with their environment and become part of their lives. My years of experience have given me the expertise to capture all the moments, details and emotions – and I ensure my clients images are edited in a true-to-life and timeless way that won’t be a limited trend.

My clients choose me because of my attention to detail, my professional communication and my guidance through the steps before and during our photography time together.

Sounds like one of my favourite combos on a wedding day! It’s another blast from the past with J + R 🤍

What happens when you ask nicely to use the roofto What happens when you ask nicely to use the rooftop of the restaurant next door? Well, magic of course! I was so fortunate to have a head start and decided it was worth a try (imagine my surprise when they not only allowed us, but even so kindly brought the couple glasses of champagne. Just the sweetest ❤️).

It was the perfect mix to this October wedding day, where we could experience a variety of backdrops and the perfect view of the CN Tower. These two were the sweetest couple and we had so much fun!

Would you believe me if I told you this wedding wa Would you believe me if I told you this wedding was 10 years ago?

I’ve been spending my slow season working on a lot of business related tasks, but also pulling out some older work and reminiscing about 22 years of capturing weddings and portraits 🤍
Private property weddings are so special and alway Private property weddings are so special and always among my favourites. It’s even more special when your couple makes sure it’s done exactly the way they want, and making sure they aren’t pressured into trends or capturing parts of the day that aren’t as important to them.

I’m a huge believer that your wedding day needs to reflect you as a couple, and not what family, friends or wedding magazines want you to do.
