aboutme
Hello!
Heather Windsor expertly captures timeless images in vibrant hues. Her ability to illustrate each couple's story and the underlying theme of their day is extraordinary. At a time when surreal photographer is trending, we love the fact that Heather Windsor has embraced bold, bright shots instead.

~Weddingbells Magazine (Canada's Top 25 Most Inspiring Photographers 2013)

I started my photography business in 2004, and have shot more than 300 weddings, locally and internationally. I originally graduated college for Graphic Design, but after a few years in the field and the birth of my son, I gravitated towards my camera and capturing stories about life. Business has continued to grow as the years have passed and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else!

I’m honoured to have had my wedding work published in various local and national publications (including WedLuxe and Weddingbells), and I have also had my boudoir work published in East of the City. In 2013, Weddingbells Magazine named me one of “Canada’s 25 Most Inspiring Photographers”, which was, and still is, a huge honour.

I very much enjoy teaching and mentoring and I am currently a professor at Durham College in the Photography program. I also still enjoy guest lecturing at Seneca College as well as other other photography group settings.

My style is best described as natural, fresh and elegant/romantic. I provide a combination of creative portraiture and photojournalism to give my clients stunning images that will never go out of style.

With many years of experience in the wedding field, I’m able to provide my clients with as much or as little direction as they need to ensure they are comfortable in front of the camera! Weddings should be fun and stress-free and I’m happily by your side through the process – whether as your photographer, planner, advocate, bouquet holder, dress fixer, listening ear or maybe just to organize your family chaos…I’ve done it all!

about me
  • I always knew I’d be in a creative field, but had no clue what I wanted to do that would get me a job
  • I adore animals and spend too much time watching cute videos on Youtube
  • I have three cats; Kenya, Cairo and Bali
  • My son is 13 years old and goes to high school next year (where did the time go?)
  • I just recently got engaged! (you can see my proposal story here)
  • My fiancee is also a wedding photographer and cinematographer
  • We recently bought our first home together and are renovating it (blog coming soon!)
  • I don’t drink coffee, but I do love tea (just plain, boring orange pekoe)
  • I LOVE caesars! (the drink, not the salad)
  • The cottage is my happy place
  • I’m a huge fan of naps – I nap a lot. Sometimes for hours. Sometimes more than once a day.
  • We love to travel and shoot destination weddings. So far we have been to over 12 countries for weddings, with more being added to the list for 2016/17
  • I’m addicted to working – but I’m trying to learn to enjoy my free time
  • I’m very crafty, but rarely have time to enjoy making things
who you are

Finding the right photographer is a challenge – there are so many choices! It may seem overwhelming but much like finding the right partner, you will often know once you have found the one. You will spend more time with your photographer than all your other vendors, so ensure you enjoy their personality as much as their style of work.

I also want to make sure we are a good fit for each other, and you’re probably in the right place if you have any of these qualities –

  • Madly in love with each other
  • Adventurous and not afraid to get your clothes or wedding dress a bit dirty
  • Easy-going and roll with the punches
  • Appreciate photography and understand why it is an important investment
  • Love cats (or any animals!)
  • You enjoy quiet evenings with a cup of tea and a warm blanket
  • Love to travel
  • Fun to be around!

I’d love to hear more about you and your love story! Thank you for considering me as your photographer, and don’t forget to get in touch by clicking here!
